Hello there!

I’m Helen. A clinical herbalist, beekeeper, ceramic artist, a notorious optimist, and a big fan of formulating herbal medicine.

I founded Lab & Leaf as a way to merge my two perspectives: working one-on-one with clients to figure out the gaps in their lifestyle and address their imbalances, and creating products that blend science with the intelligence of plants. I wasn’t seeing the integrity I expected in the products available in the marketplace, and I knew I could do better. My foundations are in Ayurveda and functional medicine, and I have a Master’s in Herbal Product Design and Manufacture with equal studies in Ayurvedic Medicine. I also have a degree in Psychology which has helped me understand people, their nuances, and human nature in my clinical practice. I approach health as both a clinical practice and a craft, and I approach formulating with a lot of nuance for phytochemistry, physiology and a pinch of intuition.

Every formula I design and every client I work with is shaped by the same underlying thought—that health isn’t a quick fix, but a process of returning the body back to its natural rhythm. Small shifts and clean ingredients matter just as much as the big health moves we make, and the art is in finding which one is missing for you. In clinical practice, I focus on designing practical, personalized protocols that help people feel a difference in the changes they make. Beyond the clinic, I’ve spent years developing innovative herbal products that are therapeutically effective and easy to take—drawing on my training in medicine formulation, safety and toxicity considerations, and the steps from seed to market alongside my experience in Ayurvedic skincare and individual medicine formulation. Whether I’m interpreting labs, blending a formula, or consulting on new product development, my mission is the same: to make health both simple and transformative.

At Lab & Leaf, my goal is to offer tools and products you can trust: grounded in scientific research, guided by tradition, and inspired by the healing wisdom of plants.

Thank you for stopping by.
